Company Culture at The Hive

As our numbers have shown this year, we are on very solid footing as a company in nearly every metric. But we can't simply sit back, relax and crack open a cold one just because our financial outlook is so promising. No, we also need to make sure our office is a place of fun, support and respect for all our Hive members. Although the year isn't over, let's reflect on what we do here at Hivewyre from a company culture perspective.

Hive Bonding Events

This year in early February we had our third-annual team scavenger hunt. This was a fun event for the company. We divided up into teams and went searching around the Tempe area. In late March, to celebrate our launch of Market Insights, we had a company celebration - the highlight we are pretty sure was the sumo wrestling competition. Also in March, we took advantage of the nice weather and being in close proximity to spring training facilities and caught a Cubs' game one day.

In May, we had a company field day were we played kick-ball and some "Minute-to-Win-It" style games, while also enjoying some burgers and hot dogs.

The Hive gave back to the community in early June when some of our members volunteered their time to help out at the Ohana Animal Rescue in Tempe, Arizona.

In the Office

What sort of things do we do to keep morale up in the office? We just had a company potluck and cornhole tournament the other day, which we will write a post on shortly. But we do a bunch of things...

When one of our reps gets an I/O signed they are brought over a beehive jar filled with fortune cookies...yummy!

We added some vegetation in the office. Each Hive member, if he/she chooses gets a plant for his/her desk.

We added a white board in the front of the office that we call the "Board of Bodaciousness". Here we put birthdays, work anniversaries, events and shout outs. All employees are welcome to add positive/funny messages and quotes to the board at any time.

We are big fans of cornhole over here at Hivewyre and we realized we needed to update our cornhole boards. So about a month ago we did just that and now have some spankin' new Hivewyre branded ones!

Things in the pipeline

For the rest of the year, these are events we have planned for our Hivewyre family:

  1. Disc golf outing
  2. Volunteer at Feed the Starving Children
  3. "Pievwyre" - Homemade pie day at the Hive
  4. Hivewyre Olympics
  5. Office is transformed to a Halloween haven à la Tim Burton (or our own Justin, as it were).
  6. Office Karaoke
  7. Volunteer for the Special Olympics

Other things about Hive's Company Culture

We love dogs and allow employee's dogs to come into work. Our dress code is casual and because we believe heavily in autonomy, your work schedule is basically your own. There are no set amount of vacation days, so as long as you can do your job successfully, we don't judge you for how much time you do or don't take off. We take a daily walk break at 2:30 and even brought in a yoga instructor last month...

We think we are a pretty cool place for one's career to flourish. Find out if you would be a good fit for the Hive yourself.

Growing. Together.
