This year, Hivewyre wanted to offer an internship opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students. As their internship is coming to an end, we wanted to sit down with them and ask a few questions about their experience here.

Kayli- Marketing Intern

Arizona State University

If you could use one word to describe your experience, what would it be and why?

One word that Kayli used to describe her experience was interactive. She thought this best described her experience because it was not an internship where you sit and observe. It was very hands-on and participated as if you were an employee there with no expiration date. “I have learned so much in the short time of being here and I am extremely grateful for this experience.”

What was your favorite part of your internship?

Kayli had a positive internship experience because of the people she was surrounded by. Only moving down to Arizona from Washington a few days before her internship had begun, she was blown away by how welcoming the Hive was to her. “I never found a day where I did not want to come to work because it never felt like work.”

What is next?

Kayli will be going home to Washington for the summer and will be returning back to Hivewyre a part of the marketing team in August. As she heads into her senior year at Arizona State University, she is excited to come back to Hivewyre and continue to gain experience in the marketing field and work alongside Hivewyre's marketing specialist, Madison.

Michael- Sales Intern

Arizona State University

If you could use one word to describe your experience, what would it be and why?

If Michael could describe his internship experience here at Hivewyre in one word, it would be “enlightening.” This was Michael’s first time working in an office setting and taught him the proper ways to act and communicate in a professional environment. He enjoyed how casual the setting was and how friendly and opening everyone was.

What was your favorite part of your internship?

Michael really enjoyed the culture events that were planned throughout the office. The events consisted of going to the WMPO, seeing Captain Marvel in theaters, and the in office potlucks because of how much the office was able to bond. He also enjoyed the experience that he gained from Hivewyre and learning under a couple of the senior sales executives.

What is next?

Michael will be graduating from Arizona State University with a BA degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Marketing & Sales concentration, Community Sports Management concentration, and a minor in Media Analysis. In July, Michael will be starting his career at a Mortgage company in the area and is excited to begin.

Tyler- Sales Intern

Arizona State University

If you could use one word to describe your experience, what would it be and why?

The one word that Tyler used to describe his experience was “Invaluable.” Tyler was able to not only learn the ropes of being apart of the sales department, but he was also able to dip his toes into learning the side of Ad Ops. Tyler strongly believes that you can only learn so much in a classroom, but nothing compares to having hands-on experience and he was able to do that here at Hivewyre with an unlimited amount of resources.

What was your favorite part of your internship?

One of Tyler’s favorite parts about his internship was being able to connect with various company executives from all around; he even connected with someone from Europe. This gave him a real-life experience in being able to learn different communication skills and how to apply them to the phone call. He also enjoyed communicating with colleagues in the office in a professional setting where he was able to quickly pick up on proper business terminology and much more.

What is next?

Tyler will be graduating from Arizona State University in May 2019 with an Interdisciplinary Studies Major with a focus on Business and Communications. He will be staying in the Scottsdale area in hopes to start a career in Business. Tyler is hopeful and excited to start the next chapter in his life post-graduation.
